ENCHANTED FOREST

Is a 22-acre oasis of subtropical plants, trees and animals which borders Arch Creek in the heart of North Miami. Features, a walking trail, butterfly garden, community garden, community center and horse stables.

Is a 1,043-acre state park, the park contains one of the largest concentrations of Casuarina trees (Australian 'pine'), an invasive species in the state park system.

In 1962 the City of Miami Beach created the “Garden Center” on a vacant site opposite the Miami Beach Convention Center. An integral part of the beginnings of Miami Beach. In the early 1900s pioneer John Collins dug the canal to transport mangos and avocados (called alligator pears) by boat to the Port of Miami from groves along what is now Pinetree Drive.
